Wedding Cake Choosing Tips

In this month’s ‘Your West Midlands Wedding Magazine’, our Hot Topic article about Choosing Your Perfect Wedding Cake is featured along with a picture of our stunning graffiti wedding cake design from last years wedding cake collection.

Q- Our wedding is in seven months and we’ve yet to organise a cake. How can we add a personal stamp on to the wedding cake design?

A– Start by looking at your wedding cake designers portfolio and be inspired by the wedding cake designs they have created for previous weddings. You could use these designs as a base but match the details to your own colour scheme. Another popular idea is to match the piping on the cake to that of the bride’s dress. This can look stunning, particularly if you’re opting to wear an intricate lace grown.

Many wedding cakes are decorated with silk or iced flowers and these can be made to match the blooms in your bouquet and centre pieces. You could also opt for fresh flowers, but these may need to be ordered from your florist. Alternatively, why not decorate the top of the wedding cake with personalised wedding cake toppers, a monogram of your initials or a family heirloom that means something to both of you!

You can find inspiration for your cake from almost anywhere. When you visit your wedding cake designer for a consultation, take along magazines, flowers and fabrics and they should be able to sketch a wedding cake design to suit.

Wedding Cake Designers West Midlands

As winners of the Local Business Accelerators competition we are very excited to be invited by the over 50’s World, Solihull, West Midlands to give them a talk on our cake companies achievements.

Our talk, will include all about our wedding cake designs, how to choose a wedding cake designer,  cake flavours and cake recipes and of course our very popular cake classes where we teach a small class how to design a wedding cake and decorating a wedding cake. We hope we will have enough time to do a quick demonstration by showing the members how to create a sugar craft rose to adorn a cake.

We will be also be showing the members our new wedding cake gallery where people can find and see all of our wedding cake pictures, celebration cake pictures and forthcoming wedding cake designs.

After the talk we will be giving the members a cake sample box with our new Rich Red Velvet wedding cake recipe, which not only tastes delicious but looks absolutely stunning when sliced.

Asian Wedding Fayre Coventry, Birmingham

On Sunday 12th February 2012 at The Royal Court Hotel, Tamworth Road, Keresley, Coventry, CV7 8JG between 12 noon-5pm, we will be exhibiting our wedding cakes at the ever popular Asian Wedding Fayre.

On the day, the Asian Wedding Fayre Birmingham will be offering only the Creme de la Creme of wedding services with a catwalk extravaganza all under one roof.

We will also be launching our new Show Case Asian Wedding Cake and four new wedding cakes from our affordable Simple Wedding Cake Collection. We are very excited to be exhibiting at the show and look forward to meeting all the wonderful brides and grooms to be. As usual, we will of course have our delicious boxed Wedding Cake Samples for brides and grooms to take home and enjoy after the exhibition.

Wonky Wedding Cake

Weddings are all about creating memories, those special moments that you’ll want to recall in your imagination, time and time again. Our stunning Wonky Wedding Cakes will almost certainly leave you and your quests with a wonderful lasting memory.

This cake is one of our many enchanting Wonky Wedding Cake designs which we have created over the last year and as always such an unusual cake. Iced in Cadbury’s purple and trimmed with deep purple double satin ribbon. This 5 tier wedding cake was then adorned with handmade sugar snowflakes which cascaded downwards. The snowflakes were covered in white diamond sparkle which really glistened under the light. The snowflakes and colour were also a large part of the bride and grooms wedding theme and stationery which is where we got the inspiration for this lovely cake.

Our Wonky Wedding Cake was the wedding receptions centre-piece and looked absolutely fabulous. The picturesque venue Hengrave Hall, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk was perfect and truly unforgettable.

SugarBliss Wedding Cakes Coventry

The magnificent Royal Court Hotel, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV7 8JG will be holding their extremely popular bridal Show on the 29th Of January 2012, 11am-4pm.

With its landscaped gardens, swimming pool, spa and choice of nine banqueting rooms, this 18th century Grade II listed manor house is an excellent venue from which to host a whole range of events. This is the largest hotel in Coventry and can accommodate up to 600 people making it a perfect choice for wedding receptions in Coventry.

At the show we will be launching our new Show Case Wedding Cake and four new wedding cake designs from our Simple Wedding Cake Collection. We are very excited to be exhibiting at the show and look forward to meeting all the wonderful brides and grooms to be. SugarBliss Cake Company Win LBA Competition

SugarBliss Cake Company is one of six successful businesses to win the LBA regional competition.

After a business presentation earlier this month to a panel of LBA industry experts, the winners were announced on 12th January 2012.

SugarBliss Cake Company will now receive support from the panel of LBA experts and £11,000 worth of marketing and advertising to develop their business.

In addition, SugarBliss Cake Company will now have the opportunity to be chosen by Deborah Meaden who will become a mentor to one overall business, picked from the regionals winners and providing invaluable business support throughout 2012 to drive their business forward.
